`` The Personal, Political, And The Title Became A Symbol...

The Personal is Unquestionably Political Feminism, known as the advocacy of equality and women’s rights, has been fighting for women’s equality since the 19th century. Although the movement has seen many feats, it has, and continues to encounter extreme obstacles. One obstacle, for instance, is the preconceived notion that the only injustices women face are on a political level. However, this notion appears to ignore the fact that politics greatly impact the lives of people on a personal level. To counter this idea, in 1969, Carol Hanish published an essay titled â€Å"The Personal is Political† and the title became a symbol of the feminist movement to express how political issues affect women personally, as well as representing how women’s†¦show more content†¦Not only are both terms highly similar, but Hanisch used this work to influence her own (The Personal is Political). Mills’ work, for instance, highlights the connection between pers onal experience and societal influence. In other words, his work describes the ability to recognize societal standards or circumstances and how they influence individuals on a personal level. In a sense, â€Å"Personal is Political† is a feminist approach to the sociological imagination. Like stated prior, politics are largely responsible for personal experience and environment. By recognizing this, it shows that for a lot of circumstances, many of the unfortunate situations that individuals encounter are entirely due to outside sources such as political policy. With all this in mind, injustices toward women on the personal level are extremely prominent as well as relevant. More often than not, especially seen in the workplace, women are deemed as inadequate, weak, and fragile. At a young age, they are socialized into believing that men are naturally more capable of challenging and rigorous work. Furthermore, since birth, women are repeatedly exposed and socialized to unequal standards, and it is these unequal standards that produce unequal yet normalized notions of how women should act. Foundations of a Bible Based Christ Worldview- myassignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about theFoundations of a Bible Based Christ Worldview. Answer: Reading One In this reading, the topic of the discussion is about the difference between living and existing in the realms of Christianity. The various things in the reading have been described in the book on the factor of transformation of the human beings (Cochrane 2015). It has to be believed that transformation is not something that can happen just within a vacuum. The people who are already entrapped in a deep sense of trouble need to overcome the factors by a strong sense of confidence to overcome the situation (Cochrane 2015). These people act like the true inspirations in the practical lives of the people. They have to be always active in their work fields and they will be very much confident in very work they undertake. There are some questions in this context like the existence of God and Gods care for His followers. God is omnipotent and He has chosen some ways to guide the people towards salvation (Bass 2012). This paper has to be analyzed in order to address the situations of Gods existence. God has His footprints everywhere in the world. Many people come to know about the existence of God in different ways but it is indeed important to know and believe that God really exists. It is the duty of the parents to make the children aware of Gods existence and His benevolent nature. The fact can be asserted that children are the representatives of the God. Next up, comes the factor of Gods care for His followers (Johnson 2012). It is, therefore, to be sure that God really has stored something good for everyone who have good in their lives. The people have to believe that the way that the world is run and everything is kept at its deserved place; this proves God is taking care of this universe very effectively every single second. I would like to put light on this fact that God is benevolent and omnipotent in His own rights. God never does wrong things to His followers. I have full faith in God and I believe it is our duty as well as responsibility to good things to this world. I have to admit many times tragedies occur but it does not mean that God does not look to the comforts of the people and the betterment of the universe. It is the God who created the human beings according the Bible (Forell 2012). The human beings are the most genius creation on earth since nothing is impossible for the human kind. I must believe that divine intention is one of the faultiest concepts in this scenario. I believe that I have to address the situation of not attending the church services that we are not able to attend the churches when we are at work (White 2016). Despite this problem, we should try to worship His divine powers from our mind. One most important aspect in this context is the fact that God has to be there wit h us at every phase of life in our workplaces. He must care for us in difficult times that we face in the workplaces. Only then we might believe that God is with us and cares for us. Reading Two In this part of the discussion, it is to be described that the little boy who was badly frightened overcame his fear in no time as soon as he came up with his father at that place. He was afraid to the fullest when he had to fetch the drinks for his family but he could not go forward as he thought the darkness was too much there (Stott 2012). The darkness made him become afraid and as a result, he could not proceed. The rustling of the trees in the wind made him get afraid and he was frightened about the fact that he had to he could not complete the job. Next, when his father came to the scene he was able to get rid of his fear with the slight help and providing confidence by his father. This story has vividly focused on the dependence of human beings on the God and keeping faith on him (Kilner 2015). In the analysis of the story in this part, it has to be said that God is the motivator and he restores power and confidence among the human beings. This is due to the factor God possesses the powers that help the human beings to work positively in the realm of the work fields. God motivates the human beings in almost every stage of live (Dawkins 2016). He bestows the strength to rely on ones own and then get to the heart of the matter by overcoming all the fears. God is the father of the universe and He takes care of His followers very effectively and looks after their comforts. God takes care of the cause and effect relationship in the works that the human beings do (Kilner 2015). I would strongly suggest the human beings to believe in the power of God and have full faith in Him. I believe that the nature of our activities reveal who we actually are from inside. The cause and effect relationship between the works of the human beings has a dichotomy within itself. This should represent the fact that the different kinds of occupations and professions should represent different facets of the human beings (Tozer 2015). According to the Bible, God had planted the seeds and the human beings should develop properly in this context. I have a personal belief that the God cares for us in the same way that we care for Him. The story of Jesus and Peter in Matthew 17 discloses the fact that God sent Jesus on earth to know about the problems of the people and to solve them. These things can be done in real good time by Jesus Himself. God is always benevolent to the human beings and he always gives them the opportunity to salvage his sins to avoid damnation. I suppose these things are eventually important indeed to build the faith and trust on God. Reading Three In this segment the plan is to discuss the fact about the presence of god in the daily lives of the human beings. The identity of the work is recognized by God according to the profession of the human beings. The people who work in the service industry have a lot of responsibilities to focus on. The people in the different occupations like lawyers, doctors, politicians and others have their own ways to project on what type of persons they are. These may work as delusions in some cases. The souls of the human beings are presented in the kinds of activities they perform in their real lives. An important thing in this context is the factor of holding the followers in the baptismal waters longer than three minutes. This would help the people get transformed into the blessings of eternity. God has the supreme power in the universe by the help of which He has shaped the world. God holds the hand of the human beings by which he gives them the power to overcome the challenges in the workplac e and in every difficult situation (Eagleton 2014). The reading has to be analyzed in this part. It focuses on the fact that God determines the powers of the human beings and provides them with strengths to overcome the challenges in every sphere just as the child had overcome his fear when he hold the hands of his father (Emery 2012). The story that is being told in this scenario is about a woman who has been focused in her career and thinks that it is her duty to play all the responsibilities for the company she works for. Apart from wanting the best results for herself, she has always prayed for the best for the company as well. The results turned out that the Holy Spirit came in rescue for her and disclosed a recent flaw in her company regarding to a project (Noble 2013). Finally she was saved. I must say in this context that it has been tried and tested to keep faith in God always. God is the power that controls everything. The factor that the CEO of the company had befooled the auditors in a great way was made clear to her. She became aware of the Gods power and believed in the true existence of God. After hearing about the specific details, the CFO was too stunned and she was very much confident since she came to know about the information about the God Himself. Therefore, I must say that human beings must put focus on the powers of God. God is the most trustworthy source in the world that can be trusted in almost every matter indeed. We must work hand in hand with God so that we can be successful in almost every endeavor that we undertake. We have to get rid of every adversity and difficulties in life by worshipping Him and keep absolute faith in Him. If we let Jesus come into our heart, we will be salvaged of all the sins we had committed in the past and therefore give birth to a new form of ours. References Bass, D.B., 2012. Speaking up at Nar Anon free essay sample

I sat alone amongst strangers and tired faces in a small, windowless room, anxious for the meeting to begin. The florescent lighting beat down upon me, making my skin look sickly and the lemon pastries before me seem unappetizing. I questioned my decision to come and be a part of this weekly discussion, but as I was convincing myself to quietly and discreetly leave, the meeting had already begun. Everyone listened intently as a blonde, middle-aged woman at the front of the table read out of her binder, reviewing the importance of taking the twelve steps seriously and simply living for today. I attempted to process the meaning of her words, but at the time they remained unclear and senseless. I grew increasingly uncomfortable as she continued to read aloud, but I knew there was no turning back. I figured I could just stay silent, but soon enough we were introducing ourselves, and that notion was long gone. We will write a custom essay sample on Speaking up at Nar Anon or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page â€Å"Hi, my name is Janet,† was not exceptionally painful, and my muscles became relaxed as sat up in my chair, more willing to contribute to the group dynamic. But then people began sharing their personal stories about their husbands, their sons, their daughters, their brothers. They spoke about the heart wrenching pain they were forced to live through and still continue to struggle with to this day. They spoke about how their entire lives once focused around a single person, and how they are now slowly learning to live for themselves, thanks to the twelve steps. After seeing a grown man repressed by emotion and tears, I became weary of telling my story to a group of people I had not known just an hour before. The deep recesses of my mind tried to piece together a coherent story I could tell the group, while I consciously wrestled with the idea of spilling my guts. In the silence of the meeting, it was now or never. I chose now, and I spoke. My story came out jumbled and discontinuous, jumping from my current feeling of being second to my parents’ addictions, to forever living in my sister’s shadow, to simply be looked upon as someone who provides a nice tax write off in the spring. But even though my story was not chronologically correct, the floor was mine, and I was free to say all that I wanted without interruption or judgment. I felt empowered by hearing my own words and listening to myself talk about the reality of my life aloud. I realized I was no longer surrounded by strangers, but by friends dealing with the same pressing, yet closeted issue I have battled since my years in middle school. By taking the risk and speaking up at the Nar-Anon family meeting, I discovered a place where I can openly let my feelings out and talk honestly about the current situation of my family.

Selection Tools †Management Essay

Selection Tools – Management Essay Free Online Research Papers Selection Tools Management Essay Good selection decisions make a difference in the type of employee that you hire. If you make a bad selection then you will see the results of this as well. That is why it is very important to choose the right method of selection for the jobs that need to be filled. Selection will reduce the amount of applicants that you have to choose from and hopefully give you the cream of the crop in which to pick the best-qualified candidate. The people involved in the selection process can be one or two or several. Usually in larger companies the Human Resource Department will make the initial screening of the applicants. Once the initial candidates are chose it is then up to the line managers to decided who they want to hire into their units. This is why it is important for the line managers to know about the practices of the selection process. Line managers should have enough information in order to make a sound selection about the candidates. Three selections tools that would be considered when looking to hire personnel for a supermarket are, completing an application, holding an interview and providing references. The reasons for choosing these three selections are to come. Being able to fill out an application shows a lot. It allows you to see if the person is able to read and understand the English language. Working in a supermarket will require the ability to know the English language due to all the advertising on the product that is done. If an applicant can fill out an application without too many problems then you know they are al least competent enough to be able to work in the supermarket. The interview process is very important. This is one of the most important parts of the selection process. Conducting an interview allows you to meet the potential candidate and allow you to make an impression about the individual. One may want to see if the candidate matches up to what he/she has put on the application. The interview gives you a perfect opportunity to ask questions and inquire about what may have been put on the application. It also gives you a chance to see how the individual presents him or her self. Is this person dirty or sloppy? Do they take pride in their appearance? Do they seem excited about the job they are applying for? Holding an interview with the candidate can assess all of these questions. The third selection process to be considered is collecting references. You want to ensure that the impression that you make on the individual reflects how others perceive them to be. Although most candidates are not going to give you a bad reference to call, you can still contact them and inquire about what type of person that individual is. If you are prepared you might even catch the reference off guard and find out something about the candidate that you did not know. This is a good tool to get to know how others perceive your ideal candidate. The advantage to using these three forms of selection criteria is simple. Working in a supermarket is not brain surgery. Overall you just want to make sure the individual has basic skills that will adapt to this environment. The application process is a quick and easy way to show whether the candidate has all the required elements to perform the job in question. The interview process lets you see if this individual would be a good fit for the job and the references just backs up the character of the candidate in question. These are all tools that will help the selection process go quickly and smoothly without it becoming too difficult or expensive to fit the bill. The position that has been chosen for my final project is a case manager, program specialist. The three selection tools that have been named above would be a good starting point for my final project position. However because this job requires more responsibility and is generally funded through the state or a non-profit agency that is being run on federal funds, a more in-depth hiring approach should be used. For this position the person should have higher credentials and be able to handle a lot more responsibilities. A background check would definitely be in order for a person in my final project position. In this position you are required to deal with confidentiality situations within the organization and with the people that you work with. A background check would show if the individual has ever had anything that could be considered questionable behavior in their past. Another tool that may be helpful is to have the potential candidate do a personality test. Since this position is such a highly public position you want to ensure that the potential candidate is not swayed one way or the other too much. This candidate should be pretty solid in their tenure. Using all of the above selection tools will help in the process of hiring the best candidate for my final project job. If you limit yourself to just the basic selection tools then you may limit the amount of information that you have about the candidate and may not be able to make the best selection for the job position in question. Recruitment for this position would be pretty simple. The first recruitment method would be to post an opening internal for any interested candidates. Interested candidates would be given the details on the position available and then given a deadline in which to turn in their resume to a specified person by a specific date. Interviews would then be set up accordingly for the internal candidates that met the criteria of the job in question. Interviewing methods vary a lot depending upon what you are trying to achieve. Structured interviews usually have a set of questions that are asked to each applicant. They keep the flow of the interview in check and do not allow the interview to get off the mark of the questions. For my position in my final project I choose the non-directive interview process. The position in question will vary from client to client. The person who fills this position will need to be very flexible and be able to probe others to find out what it is they are really trying to achieve. The non-directive Interview method allows the interviewee the freedom to go in any direction that they feel. This will be helpful in determining whether they will be able to do this with their clients as well. Broad open-minded questions leave the door open for other things to emerge or come out that may not have come out in a structured environment. As a case manager it is your job to access the client and find out what their needs may be. By holding the non-directive interview you will be able to determine if the interviewee is able to do this Compiled below is a list of some possible interview questions that may be used for this position: 1. Tell me about yourself? 2. What are your major strengths? 3. What is your idea of success? 4. Why do you want to work here? 5. Do you prefer working with others or alone? 6. What type of people do you find most difficult to work with? 7. How do you deal with difficult people? 8. Tell me about a difficult customer you dealt with and how you managed the situation? 9. What is the benefit you will receive from working here? 10. What is the perfect job? 11. What characteristics do you need to possess to succeed in this position? 12. What do you know about this job in which you are applying for? 13. What interests you about this job? 14. How will I know you are the right person for this job? 15. Describe the perfect job? Trying to find the right candidate to fill this position might be difficult depending upon who your potential candidates are. First a summary of all the candidates should be drawn up. In this particular position you need to be a people oriented person and you need to be able to at least show that you care even if you don’t. Advantages and disadvantages of mixed-presidential systems

Advantages and disadvantages of mixed-presidential systems The term semi- presidentialism was developed by Duverger in 1970 to describe the mixed constitutional system that incorporates aspects of presidentialism and parliamentarianism. The three main characteristics of a semi – presidential systems are that â€Å"a popularly elected fixed-term president exists alongside a prime minister and cabinet who are responsible to parliament.† Semi – presidentialism is unique in that it has a â€Å"a twin-headed executive,† unlike presidentialism and parliamentarianism. This â€Å"bipolar executive,† is a core criterion of a semi – presidential system which has many hybrid constitutional forms and is therefore a highly contested concept. It is possible to have a semi-presidentialist system that is dominated by the president, or by the prime minister or what is known as ‘cohabitation’ when two opposing parties have leaders in the double executive. This was the case in France in 1988 when Mitterand (left) was elected president and Chirac (right) was appointed prime minister. Although there are several forms of semi – presidentialism for the purposes of analysis, this essay will maintain the premise that semi – presidential system is one where there is a directly elected president, who appoints a prime minister that is accountable to the parliament because semi – presidentialist systems â€Å"all have presidents who are elected in a direct or direct-like manner and they all have prime ministers and cabinets who are responsible to the legislature.† This essay will discuss the merits and drawbacks of a semi – presidential system, focusing on the French semi – presidential system and comparing it to the Russian model of semi – presidentialism and the America presidential system. An advantage of the French semi – presidential system is that it relies on a chain of mutual dependence. According to the French Constitution of 1958 one of the presidential powers is that they can appoint the prime minister whose role as the head of government is to oversee the everyday running of state affairs such as â€Å"governmental, administrative, and information services.†This means that as the head of state the president needs the cooperation of the prime minister, and the prime minister the cooperation of the president in order for France to achieve an efficient government. Elgie supports this highlighting that â€Å"The nature of the French semi-presidential system is such that the president cannot exercise power without the help of the prime minister.† The French president has the constitutional right to appoint government ministers to the cabinet, however these ministers are chosen from a list that the prime minister has proposed. An effective government therefore is selected by the president and the prime minister. This dependant relationship is mirrored by the prime minister and the National Assembl y. The prime minister â€Å"is closely associated with the work of parliament and with the conduct of legislative elections,† because they are responsible to and accountable the legislature. This chain of mutual dependence is a positive characteristic of a semi – presidential system because it creates a strong and efficient government. France compared to the American presidency, has a system of checks and balances through mutual dependence that is similar to American system. Both France and the United States have a constitutional system that aims to prevent the executive and legislature having too much power. In the United States this is achieved through the separation of powers which â€Å"encourage[s] competition for the share of governing authority.† The fact that both the legislature and executive approve legislation checks and balances political authority and that prevents authoritarian rule forcing compromise. Similarly in France the chain of dependence for ces compromise and prevents one executive from having too much power and becoming autocratic. In France the checks and balances are rooted in the principle that in order to govern efficiently the prime minister and president need mutual support. Mutual reliance creates political stability in the French semi – presidential system which is furthered by the fact that semi – presidentialism prevents authoritarian rule in the dual executive and the legislature.

Leadership Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words - 5

Leadership - Essay Example A person’s beliefs, values, character, and ethics play a big role in determining what kind of a leader they will be. Today, we experience both good and bad leadership in different situations. Bad leadership is harmful to the society in many ways, therefore, should be avoided. Good leadership is what the society should adopt, as this is beneficial in many ways. This essay will therefore, address the concept of good leadership, and some of the steps one must follow to ensure good leadership. Knowledge and skills contribute to the leadership process. However, personal attributes such as values, and character, are the ones that make a leader to stand out among all the others. For instance, in order for one to practise good leadership, they must be impartial. This enhances trust and credibility of the leader by the people. These are aspects that are earned by the leader, and do not merely come with the position. However, if a leader acts ethically and professionally, they will be a ble to win trust of the people. Impartiality mainly refers to the treatment of everyone in an equal manner, devoid of favouritism. This improves relationships between the leader and the people, since the people will be sure that their leader does not have hidden outcomes in their position, neither will they question motivation. In this case, a leader must therefore, apply equal standards to all people and perform unbiased evaluation. Good leadership requires strong confidence. A good leader must therefore, be confident in themselves. Confidence includes a leader having an honest understanding of who they are, their skills and knowledge, as well as their capabilities. This is the first step of confidence on the leader’s side. Similarly, the people must have strong confidence in their leader, as this will prove that the leader is effective. The people judge and determine the effectiveness of their leaders. Therefore, if people do not trust their leader or lack confidence in the m, this means the leader is poor. Therefore, a good leader must work toward building their confidence, as well as the confidence of the people they lead. This is because; one must prove to people that they are capable of good leadership. For good leadership, a person must be capable of learning from their mistakes. Normally, it is always hard for people to accept their mistakes and take lessons from them. However, as a leader, one must be ready to accept their mistakes and learn lessons from them. This is an important step in learning, growing, and improving in the leadership position. A good leader must therefore, not blame their mistakes on the people, but admit them, as this is known to accelerate immense progress. If a leader made a few failures in the past, this should not deter them from moving on. They must have the confidence and courage of learning from their failures, and using the failures to produce success. Mistakes and failures are crucial in leadership, as they offer the leader more experience in specific situations. It becomes probable that after making a certain mistake, or failing terribly in a specific situation, a leader might not repeat the same mistakes in the future, and they will not fail if the same situation presents itself in future. Therefore, accepting past mistakes and learning from them, makes a good leader. Good leadership involves putting the needs of others first. This is the virtue of selflessness. True leadership requir
